Keto Idli | Keto foods |Keto Recipes | Low Carb

Idli is a south Indian snack, which is fermented and gluten free. A healthy combination for a carb. This is very popular in India as a breakfast item as it is considered very healthy. Since the dal/lentil and rice are fermented, they are in a predigested form. To top it, it is steamed, so it considered very light for digestion and is recommended for patients in the hospitals.
Well, besides that I like for other reasons. Most Indians grow up eating it at least once a month and the light idli with the spicy tangy sambar maked for a killer combination. Idlis is very versatile I even eat it in place of breads with my curries, or with coconut chutney or even crisped up on the pan. Use your favorite seasonings to make interesting dishes. I have missed all my South Indian snacks like Idli, Dosa, Sambar and Rassam on Keto for a long time. But I have taken it upon myself to make Keto versions of all. Ingredients for Idli:
1/2 Cup Paneer
4 Tbsp Coconut Flour
1 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1 Tbsp Psyllium Husk
2 Egg Whites
1 Tbsp Greek Yogurt or Hung Curd
1/4 tsp Rock Salt
1 Tbsp Water
1/2 tsp Ghee

I made this and that too without egg. I used one flax egg, added 2 tbsp yoghurt and 4 tbsp water. I must say it turned out good as my hubby loved itm Thank you for sharing.

I used extra firm tofu instead of paneer and had no issues. I didn’t notice any egg flavor also. I look forward to trying this with paneer in the future. Wonderful recipe and very helpful video. Thanks!

Hi Sonal I made keto idli today and it turned out well. I used 200g of paneer and maybe that is why I had to use 8 tbspful of water to get to a consistency similar to yours. Thank you for your efforts in making popular Indian food keto. I enjoy your postings very much 👍🏾

Do you know how to make a keto version of the spicy snack mix that I get at the Indian import shop? It's called "hot mix" by Deep Foods. It's got the thin noodles (sev?) with a few kinds of fried dal, nuts & golden raisins. Obviously the raisins are out.

Bcoz its 55 calories that you are write down 3 gm fat 5 gm protin and 2 gm carbs

You are rocking… Must say.. I m doing kee to due to set of targets not at all liking it saw this today .. n get all stuff n prepare idli.. I added spinach n green chilli in to it … It was yum today finished whole 200gm paneer of my days target. I used to take a bite or normal pa der recipi with sip of water which was pukish. Today I finished my plate. Lovely easy to cook as well … Pls share some more recipi to take paneer which is dificult
