Well done Monika. As I think I said before, I couldn't do the ketogenic diet as I am addicted to fruit but I am going to do some serious cutting out of certain food. Unfortunately Sue, my wife, has been having a baking craze lately and she does make some lovely cakes! I may try the intermittent fasting though as I often go 12-14 hours without eating anyway so a few more hours won't hurt too much.

Hi Monika! You look beautiful at both weights to me. You've got that gorgeous face. Have a super weekend! โคโš˜โคโš˜โค

Hi, Monika! You have so much to be proud of, and I'm sure it was a lot of hard work, dedication, and will power(!). What an amazing accomplishment, and you look beautiful. I lost 50 lbs last year, so I know how difficult it is — especially when you're over 50! ๐Ÿ’– Thank you so much for sharing your achievement as well as your struggles. So inspiring. ๐Ÿ™‚ Take care, and I hope you have a great weekend! -Mandy

Hi Monika. How inspiring you are and what an accomplishment! Wow! I know how much discipline that took to lose so much weight. You look fabulous!!

I also keep my carbs very low. I find that when I stick to a low carb diet I don't crave food like I used to. I also used to have weight issues and lost weight by limiting carbs. Congrats on your tremendous success! You look awesome. ๐ŸŽ€๐ŸŽ€Beth

Hi Monika. Thanks so much for looking at my channel. I would be so honored if you subscribed. I have been watching you for quite some time and just realized I wasn't subscribed so I just signed up a few days ago. I have especially been interested in watching your use of Retin A. I just started it maybe three moths ago and am now on two nights per week at .5. I have been here for several weeks and I'm not peeling so I'm thinking about adding a third night this week. Where are you in the journey?

Monica through watching your channel I get the sense we are very similar. I hadn't realized it but I think before coming to youtube I had let myself go. And sort of lost hope in myself if you know what I mean. I don't think I consciously did this but deep inside I kind of felt like the world was for the younger girls. Not for me so much anymore. I had become somewhat set in my ways and bored with my life and it had been a long time since I'd worked on myself or really had any new dreams. I know that sounds weird but learning this makeup and skincare stuff on YouTube has helped me wake up more to my own life and realize I DO still have dreams even if I'm nearing 60. I suspected you might be in the same boat especially when I saw your huge weight loss (which is quite an accomplishment) and see the increasingly radiant joy in your face. I thought we may be on the same path. Congratulations girl. In the second half we appear to be waking up. What a wonderful, unexpected surprise! Bless you lady. You are rockin' it!!!๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’Beth

  15. FiftyPlusBeauty says:

Thanks so much Monica for the info on Retin A. It looks like your skin is really improving. I know it takes awhile and patience is not my strong suit so I'll TRY to go slow.

I always liked your videos as you are so down to earth and relatable. I am so glad to have found youtube. You and the other ladies here are wonderful! Have a great day๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’Beth

  20. Ligia Caldwell says:

So nice you shared! I started intermittent fasting about a couple of months ago and I am kinda like you meaning I am not a purist but I have been losing weight very slowly. Other than that my main goal was finding a plan I can follow for the rest of my life. I love to eat! I love desserts, I love baking at home…. so I never thought of skipping breakfast in my entire life until now. You look great and I am glad you found something that works for you too! I would love to hear more about your diet and IF and hope you post more videos about it! XOXO

  22. All That Beauty With Lori says:

Hi Monika ๐Ÿ™‚ I have to tell you, seeing your before picture and how you look now, you look amazing. And what a goal also in life to work hard, and feel accomplished in doing it all. No doubt there is challenges at times, but I know and remember when I was doing good on mine, if you cheated or took that break. They always said as long as you didn't slip off. As I did LOL But I am going to work on mine after Easter, as I know no point in trying now with it coming. I am thinking of trying this fasting thing , but I do take medications and I think it said to not fast if you do? If anything I will work on what I was doing a few years back, it was working. Of course just doing basic meals, not in between eating. And drinking more water ๐Ÿ™‚ Have a wonderful and HAPPY EASTER!! much blessings xoxox <3

  23. GLORIA P says:

Wow!!ย  What an accomplishment, congratulations!!ย  Fighting with weight most of my adult life, listening to your typical day (diet) I am totally convinced that "carbs" are my enemy as well ๐Ÿ™ย  I'm diabetic/hypertensive and have fibromyalgia.ย  Have been told and read that cutting sugar out would help a great deal with pain!ย  I must like pain because I haven't stopped, lol!!ย  When I eat meat, I have to have my tortillas!!ย  I'd rather not eat the meat if I don't have them!ย  You could say it, "no wonder you struggle with weight", lol!!
I thank you for hitting me with reality ๐Ÿ˜‰

  28. Sonny Girl says:

wow, I had no idea I was a Purist lol… actually my 2 year journey on Keto was just to get my a1c numbers from 10.2 ( OMG) to a 5.5 in ;less than 90 days. I did it and have kept it below 5.7 for 2 years and 4 months now. The added bonus for me was the 43 lb. weight loss. I do Real Carbs, not net carbs and keep it below 35 per day. I guess I've always been an intermitten eater. nothing after 8 at night and I usually eat around 1 the next day. People always ask me about cheat meals and my answer is — Cheat Who? lol

You look GREAT~! and I'm so happy for you.
I recently found Kristie and found her charming and informative.. Crack slaw is a fav or mine.

  29. Nancy White says:

Hello, new subscriber. I have been researching and doing IF and 5:2, LCHF since January 2017. It's always a bonus to be able to find women of my vintage (lol) doing the same thing and experiencing results. I did Atkins in the 70s and then the late 90s. Lost way too much weight, remarried, rebounded back to old habits only to gain back 40 lbs.! Just lost 16 lbs. in the past 8 mos. I also am not strictly keto, but I try to stick to my macros, not always succeeding. Aiming to lose another 20 lbs. in the next year and hopefully will continue this way of life for good. Great to see your progress and looking forward to more of your videos.

I am doing almost the same thing as you are.ย  I dropped a lot of weight slowly also, but carbs, even too many organic veggie ones make me puff up too.ย  ๐Ÿ™‚ย  You did amazing. ๐Ÿ™‚

  37. c sikomas says:

Hello, 59 female here, still working, with that darn pot belly. Geez! I am so glad I found you talking about this. I really needed this because I really want to be healthy overall but also loose the last of the lifelong blub. I agree that Keto-ish is the way to go, plus intermittent fasting. If I stay on Keto I can have sugar treats, but not carb treats, like bread. Bread kills, even organic bread with no gluten…the bread is just not something I can do. I tried after a year of keto to introduce bread back, but I can't have minimal chocolate plus carb from bread or pasta, plus work at a desk all day (so maybe major gym or jogging is the answer to bread, but realistically, that is not going to ever happen at my age). It's important to state that intermittent fasting helps with inflammation and its the only way to maintain a flatter tummy. I am sure it has to do with hormones at my age, etc., as well. Also brain power has changed and needs certain foods to be able to tap into the power of the brain, or to stop losing brain power more like, which I notice is impacted majorly by what I eat during the day. Also heartburn, it's just so much less without bread or fake or high sugar in my diet. It's just the truth. Anyways, I am going to subscribe and check out your links. I also need the support of women like myself to stay motivated, so thanks for being real, and keep up the good work.
